Trying to find the "perfect" toy for your toddler? If you know toddlers then you know they are entertained by the oddest things like diaper boxes, falling on pillows, checking themselves out in mirrors. You know, things you don't normally buy for them. So, why am I making a list of things a toddler must have? Because sometimes they just want to play with some good old toys. Here are some of Ace's favorite things right now.
Nesting Cups by Green Sprouts. They are BPA free and only $5.99! You can't go wrong with these. My son plays with his in the bath tub and playing around the living room which makes them even better that they can be used in multiple settings.
Board Books: Right now board books that teach color, shapes, animals and letters are awesome for this age. Ace is really into Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see? I love this book because it is repetitive and teaches colors and animals.
Push Toys: We have a few push toys and Ace loves to push anything with wheels. One of his favorites he got from his Grammy and it is the Melissa and Doug Alligator Chopping one. He will even use his umbrella stroller if it is available. We stayed at a friends and he loved their Fisher-Price Bubble Mower and this will be added to his Christmas List!
Popping Toys: You know those toys where you push the top down and on the inside balls spin and pop around. That toy has got to be Ace's favorite toy if he is bored. He will just push the top and watch the balls go. I couldn't find the one he has but Playskool has a really cute one. Ours we got as a hand me down and I would have paid probably double what it is worth for how much use we have gotten out of it.
Balls! Ace is into throwing them everywhere and he also will just walk around holding one saying "bah".
Those are our top 5 favorite must have toys right now. I am sure it will change as he gets bigger and learns to use his other toys but for now he is loving all of these.
What did you find were the best toys for your little one? Were any the same as Ace?!
I've been meaning to rack my brain for a similar post soon. My baby is not at all into the push toys, but I blame it on the fact that she doesn't walk on her own yet. Maybe once that happens she'll do more than look at her rider/push toy. Thanks for linking up! I totally agree with the ball and stacking toys. Ours loves them.
I saw you on Monday Mingle and just followed you.

ReplyDeleteMy son wasn't into push toys till he could walk or was already taking steps. He likes them a lot more now that he has mastered walking though.
